Business education – HES UNECON

In 1989, by the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Intersectoral Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Senior Personnel was organized at the Leningrad Financial and Economic Institute named after N. A. Voznesensky. From 1996 to 2012, the institute was called the HIGHER ECONOMIC SCHOOL of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance. In 2012, in connection with the formation of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics, HES acquired the status of the UNECON business School and occupies a leading position in the market of additional education in the Northwestern region of the Russian Federation.

HES UNECON has repeatedly won competitions among educational institutions and has been noted by various rating agencies. Today IDPO is “HES“:

  • It is among the 15 most effective business schools in Russia and three in St. Petersburg according to EDUNIVERSAL (Paris, France)

The achievements of the management of the business school were marked in 2019 and 2020 by the top lines in the annual rating of the Kommersant Publishing House in St. Petersburg “Top Managers of the Year“ (industry: business education). HES UNECON has been a member of the RABO since 1998, and since 2004 its scientific supervisor, Doctor of Economics, Professor Valentin Pavlovich Galenko, has been a member of the Workers‘ Council.
The school is represented in the working group on the development of professional standards in the DPO of the Expert Council of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science of the Russian Federation.




1989
Creation of the MIPC on the basis of the special faculty and the Faculty of Advanced Training of the N. A. Voznesensky LFEI. Retraining and advanced training of managers and specialists of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, Gosplan, enterprises and organizations of the national economy within the framework of a state order.
1991—1992
The first steps to reorient the institute to work in market conditions, the first contacts and programs with the participation of foreign partners.
1993
Modernization and development of new professional retraining and advanced training programs. The first major international programs are "Master of Business Administration" and "Personnel Management". Development of a marketing concept for the management of the institute, adaptation of its structure to the requirements of the educational services market.
1995—1996
Creation of the scientific and methodological center of the Morozov project at the HIGHER ECONOMIC SCHOOL, organization of All-Russian seminars for educational and business centers of this project.
1997—1998
The victory in the All-Russian competition of professional retraining programs for entrepreneurs, the creation of corporate professional development programs and the development of consulting. Organization of joint professional retraining programs with Komi Republican Academy of Civil Service and Management under the Head of the Komi Republic.
1999
The first graduation of students in the Presidential Management Training Program. The publication of two joint Russian-French publications within the framework of international programs: a collection of cases on the MBA program "Enterprise Management" and a textbook on the program "Personnel Management".
2000
Implementation of a joint MBA program in Kazan with the participation of HES, ESIDEC and KFEI.
2001
The first graduation of students in professional retraining programs in the field of evaluation activities and "Business communication and PR". Development and implementation of the international Russian-German program "Marketing Management" and the program "Logistics Management".
2002—2003
Development and implementation of specialized professional retraining and advanced training programs within the framework of creating strategic alliances with partner universities and organizations. Implementation of the program "Management in healthcare".
2004—2005
Implementation of the Russian-German MBA program in the specialty "Marketing" and the Russian-French program "Financial Management".
2006
Creation and implementation of the corporate MBA program, the Russian-German program "Logistics Management" and the Russian-Dutch program "Strategic Marketing (ROME program)". Participation in the tender and implementation of the Winter School program with the Polytechnic University of North Karelia (Joensuu, Finland). Joining the European Retail Academy.
2007
Participation in the long-term project "UniC (Finnish-Russian Cooperation for Creating Business Competence)" together with the Palmenia Centre for Continuous Education of Helsinki University. Creation and implementation of the international Russian-Swiss MBA program "Human Resource Management".
2009—2010
HES UNECON is among the 1000 best business schools in the world, 15 in Russia and 3 in St. Petersburg (EDUNIVERSAL, Paris).
1st place in the quality competition "Made in St. Petersburg" for the development and implementation of a set of professional retraining and advanced training programs.
2011
Preparation and supply to the educational services market of the management training program for organizations of the national economy of the Russian Federation "Effective market management" - a project-oriented educational program (type A).
2012
Education of St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON). The HIGHER ECONOMIC SCHOOL acquires the status of the business school of Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics.

2013—2014
